Nipped here for an impromptu lunch after returning from a weekend away. Roast dinner was delicious, hubby had calamari chips.amd salad. Generous portions. No light lunch options on a Sunday however, starters are a good price for a light lunch. Bar staff and waiting staff exceptionally friendly. We live close by and will return.....

Thirty years ago this was a brilliant pub and a touring caravan park. It was a super place to stop for a drink and snack. About 10 years ago because of poor management it closed. Now, after a lot of work and a facelift, someone who cares and knows what they are doing has reopened the pub, and it is great. The choice of real ale is very good. There is a varied and wide choice of spirits, gin, whiskey, etc. Clean, well maintained toilets. The nice, and again, clean beer garden. We didn't eat as we visited before food was being served. The menu looks inviting and the prices appear reasonable. Final verdict. It's nice to see a village pub open rather than closed, or closing. If traveling from Norwich to North Norfolk, call in for drink, or a meal. You will be pleasantly surprised. (I Am in No Way Associated With The Owners or Operators of The Royal Oak) It's just a nice pub given a new lease of life.

What a friendly welcome, the landlord shook our hands as we walked in the door. We had an excellent ploughman's lunch which was beautifully presented. The current owners have been there for a year and are gradually improving and extending the space. A bit of a find this pub, doesn't seem to be on the radar.

Popped in to the Royal Oak as it was close to where wecwere staying. We were just going to have a drink but looked at the menu and decided to have a light lunch. The food we ordered arrived promptly and looked lovely. My daughters said the stuffed meatballs were delicious and the best they had tasted. They also said the bbq chicken bites were excellent. All in all a well presented pub with a good choice of drinks, delicious food and excellent staff. So good we're going back to try the evening menu tomorrow.

Visited this pub for Sunday lunch with my husband. We both had the roast beef which was served with delicious vegetables and home made gravy.Followed by apple crumble and custard . Young waitress was very attentive. A roaring fire added to the ambience. We will definitely return.

The menu is amazing. Everything I saw being served looked brilliant inc the budget menu which is really welcome in these days of over priced pubs! Brilliant atmosphere the fire, the decor, the paved flooring and friendly staff, this pub is what a pub should be. You can chill or eat but all informally, no rows of tables and clinical decor here! I will be back. Great if you want to drink and chat with mates or eat with your family. Just 20mins from Norwich down the NDR which is quicker than driving and parking in the city. So you city folk get off your butts!

My wife Mim and I had Sunday Lunch today and it was superb 5 different vege plus roast parsnips and potatoes with homemade Yorkshire Pudding. Jay and his team so welcoming and friendly. We are here for a few days, if we lived near I think we'd be there every Sunday. So reasonably priced. We may live well over an hour away but we will be back!!!! Thank you

Visited here on Bank Holiday Monday. Friendly welcome from staff, lovely food. Decor is lovely, proper country pub feel. Can imagine being sat in front of the fire on a winters day with a nice beer. Will definitely be back again.
